It was started by Lauren & Jim Parejko; two Midwesterners that had a vision to open a small neighborhood brewery & taproom to bring fresh craft beer to Downtown Mankato. That vision started in the spring of 2018 with renovations to the former Snell Quick Lube building & came to life in the fall of 2018 with the opening of the taproom. Our aim is to serve a wide range of approachable beer styles in the taproom including crisp lagers, roasty porters & stouts, juicy pale ales, tart & fruity barrel-aged sours & hefty barrel-aged strong ales. The name ‘LocAle’ embodies our commitment to using Midwest ingredients in many of our beers to give them a sense of place. This sense of place is also reflected in our logo which celebrates the historic return of bison to the local prairie at Minneopa State Park.
