The Tav on the Ave was opened on Mankato's Madison Avenue in 1988 and became the first tavern in Mankato to offer Buffalo wings and today has served over five million buffalo wings. So Pita Pit ditched all the heavy breads and buns, along with the higher carbs and fat that today's health-conscious consumers are trying to avoid. We came up with our own special light and tasty pitas. We vow to fill them with only the good stuff! We choose leaner, savory meats that can be grilled to perfection. Our flavorful cheeses, a larger choice of crisp, fresh veggies AND exotic toppings, including our own zesty signature sauces, make our pitas stand out. Our pitas were also developed with a special fold, so these tantalizing flavors could be all rolled into one.
