MVAC is a private organization that has served south central Minnesota since 1965. It is one of nearly 1,100 Community Action Agencies, the nation's larget poverty-fighting network. MVAC is for communities, not for profit. It assists low-income families with housing, employment and transportation issues, and provides educational opportunities for children through Head Start. Since its inception, MVAC has delivered more than $500 million to create opportunities for people and communities in its nine-county area.
