Manufacturing is a major industry and driver of our economy in South Central, MN. As one of the leading sectors, we want everyone to become more aware of the benefits of these businesses in our communities. There continue to be misconceptions about the career opportunities stability of manufacturing jobs due to global competitiveness that need to be addressed. By showcasing a variety of manufacturing businesses across the region to the general public, we hope to expose citizens to the latest technology used, excite them about the career opportunities available, and educate them about the economic impact these businesses have on our local, regional, and state economies.

This event will be similar to a “parade of home” where a map and guide of all the participating manufacturers will be distributed to citizens across the nine counties of South Central, MN. Community members will be able to stop by for a short walk through or guided tour of any of the participating manufacturers of their choice throughout the day. Each participating manufacturer will provide information about their business, communicate career opportunities they have, and will provide an “open house” atmosphere in their setting.
