This Diabetes Alert Day, encourage your patients and loved ones to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. The new Diabetes Risk Test asks users to answer simple questions about weight, age, family history and other potential risks for prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Social workers are in the spotlight this month, but they make a big difference every month! Pate, one of our dedicated social workers, shared how important his role is in caring not only for patients, but for their families, as well. Hear more from Pate here: https://lnkd.in/eDE3EXJC. #happysocialworkmonth "I often see caregivers who resist the idea of facility respite care. I had a caregiver who was adamant about not sending her husband to a facility. At the time, she was exhausted and in poor health, overwhelmed by caregiver strain due to little financial and family support. After a couple of months of reassurance, she agreed to send her husband to respite care. She missed having him in the home, but she was able to get much-needed rest. When her husband returned home, she shared how much she appreciated having respite available to her and knowing that her husband was well taken care of."

March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month. #MS is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. In this disease, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue in the central nervous system. If you have MS or act as a caretaker for someone with MS, it can be an isolating experience. Networks like the National MS Society can provide you with a community that empowers you to live your best life. #MSawareness #MyMSMoment https://lnkd.in/gjqBeGWd
